Cattleya tigrina

Cattleya tigrina
(‘albina’ x ‘alba’)
Brazilian Cattleya species, C. tigrina, formerly known as C. leopoldii—”King Leopold’s Cattleya.”
Grown from seed, so flower characteristics may vary somewhat from plant to plant.
Plants Available: Selected release of plants growing in 6” pots. The plants currently available are pictured.
Orchid Care: Grow potted or mounted in medium-high light (bright, indirect). We recommend potting plants to better accommodate the tall stature of this species as it matures. (The plants currently available should not need repotting until spring 2027.) Provide moderate humidity and good air circulation. Plants should dry out between waterings. Fertilize weakly, weekly.
Note: Bifoliate Cattleyas like this one should only be repotted when the plant has put out a new growth with new, actively growing roots. Bifoliates repotted at the wrong stage of growth are more likely to decline.
