(‘Father’s Day’ x self)

Cattleya species native to southeastern Brazil and prized for its large, showy flowers and distinctively vibrant lip. Fragrant.

Grown from seed so flower characteristics will vary somewhat from plant to plant.

Plants Available: Growing in 3” pots. Examples of the size available are pictured.

Orchid Care: Grow in bright, indirect sun. Provide strong air circulation and moderate to high humidity. When potting, the medium should be a well-draining, airy mix (e.g. bark-based with hydroton/LECA, charcoal, and sponge rock) to allow ample air flow around the root system. Water conscientiously as this species can be quite sensitive to overwatering. Water thoroughly when plants are actively growing during spring and summer, allowing the roots of the plant to dry fully before watering again. Reduce water and fertilizer with cooler temperatures and shorter day length in fall and winter.
