Cattleya jenmanii semi-alba

Cattleya jenmanii semi-alba
This is the semi-alba form of the South American species Cattleya jenmanii, which is native to Venezuela and Brazil. Whereas the tipo form of the species is lavender or dark purple, the semi-alba form is white to blush with a colored lip. C. jenmanii typically blooms in clusters of 3 or more fragrant flowers per newly matured growth in late summer/early fall. Flowers open with white petals that take on a blush hue as the bloom ages.
Plants Available: Growing in 6” pots. The two plants available (pictured) are established divisions from our breeding stock plants.
Orchid Care: May be grown potted, in baskets, or mounted. Provide moderate to high humidity and strong air circulation. If grown potted, ceramic or clay pots with many holes are recommended, so as to facilitate air circulation to the roots. Plants should be watered generously during active growth (typically spring and summer), and less often during the cooler months. Whatever the time of year, the roots of the plant and/or substrate must be allowed to dry out between watering. Fertilize weakly, weekly.
