Oncidium ampliatum

Oncidium ampliatum

from $25.00

Syn. Rossioglossum ampliatum

Yellow-flowered Oncidium species with distinctive tortoiseshell-like pseudobulbs. Blooms in the spring.

Grown from seed.

Plants Available: Driftwood mounts and potted plants. See plant selection dropdown menu for current availability.

  • Small driftwood mounts of ampliatum seedlings—absolutely adorable. Plants available have begun to establish on their mounts and are near blooming-size (expected to flower within 1-2 years). Two available examples are pictured.

  • 4” Pot - plants are in spike in February (first bloom seedlings). An example of 4” Pot - Sm option is pictured.

Orchid Care: Grow in diffused light with moderate to high humidity and strong air circulation. Plants grown in overly high light will respond with discolored leaves (yellow mottling). Younger plants, those suitable for growing in 4” pots, grow well in moss. We recommend mounting plants as they mature and outgrow this pot size. Large, mature plants can also be gainfully established in baskets. Should you need to grow them potted, switch from moss to bark mix when potting up into 6” pots or larger.
